Will I have to buy vegetables I don't want?

Unlike some co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of produce, with MOORE FARMS and Friends you can order our Custom Choice option for a small packing fee. This allows you to order what you want, in the quantities you want, based on our availability. Just choose the Custom Choice Order item and then go shopping!

Some items may have a limit on the quantity you can order to assure that everyone gets a share of the goods.

Our Farmer’s Picks are carefully selected each week from several farm’s harvests. We try very hard to avoid giving you the same produce items week after week!

Going out of town? No problem, just don’t order! You do not have to order every week with our program, just when you want another box of good food from our farms!

How do I order?

To get started, click on the “Your Account” tab and register your New Account. We ask that you pre-pay for a 4 week trial period at $20 minimum per week and the Annual Membership Fee of $25 for a total of $105. Your weekly order total will be deducted from your balance. You are not required to order every week: the 4 week trial can be spread out or spent as you like.

After the 4 week Trial Period you can pre-pay for another 4 weeks at a time or for as many additional weeks as you like. Your account balance will be available to you anytime in Your Account information. Our minimum weekly order is $20. You can add items to a Farmer’s Pick at no additional packing charge.

Each Friday evening we email our Members that the website is updated and ready for orders. You can choose between three ordering options:

Farmers’ Pick Order at $20 or $30

or

Custom Choice order with a $20 product minimum plus a small packing fee.

You must place your order for the week no later than Monday at 5:00pm.

We will disable the ordering system at 5pm Monday so we can total up the orders and get harvest reports to our farms.

You can call or email us if you have questions about ordering: moorefarmsandfriends@yahoo.com or Farm office: 256-449-9417. Please always call if you need to cancel order!

Why Support Our Farms?

Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials.

Provide learning opportunities: Our projects include two elementary school gardens and a summer camp garden. Your purchases help us to donate our time, seeds and plants.

Supporting a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.

We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.

How Do Meat Orders Work?

We are able to offer a wide variety of locally raised all natural pastured meats. Our farmers produce excellent pork, poultry, beef, rabbit and lamb. Selections can change week to week based on availability.

When you order, prices are per pound. If you have a request for a certain size cut, please include that in the comments line (such as: 3 pound Pork Shoulder Roast). Some meat items are packaged in one pound portions (ground beef, stew beef, bulk sausage, ground lamb, stew lamb). For other cuts we enter the exact weight for the items after we package your order. For this reason your order total may be adjusted up or down depending on the actual weight of the meats ordered.

Availability can be variable and we try to offer meat selections as consistently as possible.

Most pickup locations have a cooler near the order boxes for meats: please be sure to get yours before leaving!
